winter update
Well the winter is definatly here now,Training and racing has been going ok in the early off season had a few top 5 finishes overall at the Henlow 10 where i broke my pb and stevenage half where i got to within 10 secs of my half pb,so early indications are that my form is ok just need to carry that into 2011 .
January sees me competing in a high profile xc races great strength training early on then after that it a matter of building up the bike mileage and starting to nail some good sessions,i will be back with the masters swim team after xmas too,I have really seen the benefits of swimming with these guys 3/4 sessions a week,so my weakest disipline will hopefully be stronger next year.Bring on 2011 and i am really pumped up for this year.

gb race
A few of the race photos of the european champsin spain,The race did not quite go to plan for me,i had a good swim and bike and got myself in the mix coming off the bike and full of confidence as the run is my strongest disipline and i thought i might be able to reel in a few more competitors but on the day it was not meant to be,i finished 14th in my age group,on relection i think i didnt hydrate as good as i could have and i think i paid for that in the warm weather in spain.
The rumours are that the same race has been choosen for the world long course champs in 2012 so i am going to try and qualify and go back and put things right.unfinished business.!!!!!!!!

london marathon
The london marathon did not really go to plan for me this year considering i felt great going into the race.I went off at the start holding a pace that felf great hitting all of my splits got to the halfway point in 1 hour 19 and this was bang on target time and at this point was feeling great,i got to 14.5 miles it all went wrong my calf pulled i eased off thinking it might be cramp but it just got worse,The last ten miles was agony with people going past me knowing i could do nothing about it.my final time was 2 hours 54 mins so i can get a good for age start again for 2011.

over the winter i have really been working hard on my swimming and i feel like i am finally getting somewhere with it,i have always been a bit lazy with my swimming just doing enough to get by, but this year i am really pushing myself to get the best out of my swimming, starting to feel really good in the water .It helps that the guy i do most of myt swim training with likes to swim long and this pushes me too stay longer and get them quality sets in.
