three peaks challenge

well at the weekend me and two friends attempted the three peaks challenge this involves climbing the three highest peaks in scotland, england and wales in under 24 hours but we wanted to go under 20 hours.well what can i say stunning views and awesome experience but we didnt complete it due to safety grounds. The break down of how it went is below.

Ben nevis (scotland)3hours 45 mins at the summit we ran in knee high snoe see attached pic

Then we had a 6 hour drive to the lake district to climb the highest peak in england scarfells pike but this is where it went wrong w got up to about 3/4 of the way up and where we had so much rain the river bed thats usually dry was like the rapids fast flowing water down the mountain side we searched for 2 hours to get across but could find no way to do it and after falling in the shallows a few times we had to call a halt to the challenge due to safety grounds, once we got down we had a group discussion and decided to carry on anyhow to complete the last mountain in wales which is snowden.

Mount Snowden (wales)1 hour 55 mins -picture of us at the summit of snowden

this race is unfinished business for us and we are going back next summer to complete it ,there is no doubt in our minds that we would have completed this challengee in under 20 hours with the way we done the other 2 major mountains watch this space for next years challenge.
